TBT: Debut Cake

Much like a quiceañera or a sweet sixteen, a Debut is a special Filipino right of passage where the family comes together to celebrate their daughter turning 18. These are typically large affairs that take years of planning and we were lucky to be a part of this young woman’s day.

Gaby loved strawberries, baby blue and pink! Of course, only one cake would do; everyones favorite, Strawberry Sweetheart cake. A vanilla layer cake filled with fresh whip cream and sliced strawberries. More importantly it HAD to match her dress and colors. I was a bit skeptical, after all the colors were reminiscent of a baby shower, but I have to say it was simply elegant. The delicate soft pink roses stood out against the baby blue frosting and matched the birthday girl perfectly.
