Southern Cake BONUS
I’ve seen mayonnaise cake posts here and there on the Googles, I even found one in my grandmother’s recipe boxes, but never had the inclination to try one. How could mayo, which we all love on a burger and sandwich, be any kind of good in a cake? Well folks, mark this day in your diary….I WAS WRONG….
This cake is so thiccc and moist, with no trace of a ‘mayo’ twang to be found. The mayonnaise replaces the eggs, oil and milk of a typical cake and what you get is just good ol’ fashioned chocolate fudgey goodness with a healthy schmeer of Peanut Butter frosting on top. I will never doubt my southern peoples again.
P.S.A. ~ Make sure you have ice cold milk on standby before making this cake!
