Is it a myth that every southern mother had a pound cake (or two) in her freezer, ready to spring into action when an unexpected guest dropped by? I surely hope not!

There are a few varieties of pound cake every southerner should know and this Cream Cheese version is one of them. This is moist inside with a satisfying crunchy crust that makes it perfect for a healthy dollop of fresh spiked whipped cream and beautiful fresh berries.
